During our initial consultation, we'll review your current assets, discuss your goals and the image you want to project, and talk through the best approach.

We’ve nailed down the scope—now it’s time to organize the crew and locations.

If you need a San Diego headshot photographer for a straightforward solo session, the process is simple. We’ll pick the best location and backdrops to match your vision, then schedule your shoot. I'll bring along a lighting assistant, and if requested, a makeup artist to ensure you look your best.

For company headshots, where we’ll be photographing your team and leadership, we’ll work with your marketing team to establish the style and direction. We’ll select appropriate locations and finalize the shooting schedule. For larger shoots, this might span multiple days and involve additional photographers to keep everything running smoothly.

Executive portraits require the most customization, going beyond a standard headshot. We’ll collaborate with you to define the style and tone, focusing on the leadership qualities each executive should project. After locations are confirmed, we’ll create a shot list to ensure you get a versatile set of visual assets for all your marketing needs. We may also suggest working with our corporate stylist to achieve the perfect wardrobe look.

On the day of the shoot, we'll arrive at the location early to set up lighting and background equipment. If you’ve booked our hair and makeup services, they’ll get started while we prepare the setup.

Before your session begins, we’ll give you an overview of what to expect and share a few tips on posing and expression. Throughout the shoot, we’ll provide plenty of direction to keep things relaxed and enjoyable—we promise it won’t be as intimidating as it sounds!

We shoot tethered to a laptop, so you can review the images in real-time and ensure you're happy with the results. We’ll also take breaks as needed for hair and makeup touch-ups or wardrobe changes.

After the shoot, we'll edit the photos and provide each participant with a proofing gallery. You can browse this gallery to choose your favorite images for detailed retouching. All images will be downloadable with standard edits applied, and your selected favorites will receive advanced retouching.

Our retouching team will enhance the images, removing temporary blemishes, managing flyaways, softening dark circles, and making other general improvements. We aim to keep the images true to you—you’ll look like your best self, without altering your natural appearance unless you have specific requests.

All images will be delivered in full resolution, with unlimited usage rights for as long as you need them. If you require any images to be resized to particular dimensions, just let us know, and we’ll take care of it!
